South Asian Agricultural Forum 2025
The 2025 South Asia Agri Forum began at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo, with the Hon’ble Governor of the Western Province, Mr. Hanif Yusoof, participating as the Chief Guest. Organized by the Bharat Subcontinent Agri Foundation (BSAF), the event brought together representatives from over 30 buyer countries to strengthen the regional agricultural trade market and cooperation. In his keynote address, Governor Hanif Yusuf highlighted Sri Lanka’s significant contributions to global agricultural trade, particularly through tea, cinnamon, rubber, and coconut products, which generated USD 2.5 billion in exports in 2024. The Governor emphasized the importance of innovation, sustainability, and international partnerships as key strategies to overcome climate change and market volatility. The forum featured high-level discussions and exhibitions showcasing Sri Lanka’s premier agricultural products.
