Appointment of Chairpersons for various authorities constitutionally vested in the Western Provincial Council
The appointment of chairpersons for various institutions legally assigned to the Western Provincial Council took place (2024.12.16) under the leadership of the Governor of the Western Province, Mr. Hanif Yusoof.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Colombo District Development Committee and Member of Parliament Lakshman Nipuna Arachchi, Chief Secretary of the Western Provincial Council Dhammika K. Wijesinghe, and several other officials.
The Governor appointed nine new chairpersons for various authorities of the Western Provincial Council, and the appointments are as follows:
- Mr. U.L. Gamini Alexander Perera – Chairman of the Western Provincial Road Development Authority
- Mr. I.M. Jagath Chandra Bandara – Chairman of the Western Provincial Industrial Development Authority
- Mr. Gamini Jayasinghe – Chairman of the Western Provincial Transport Authority
- Mrs. W.A. Sujeewa – Chairman of the Western Provincial Aesthetic Resort
- Mr. N.A. Jagath Anura Kumara – Chairman of the Western Provincial Agri Services Authority
- Mr. K.A.D. Chathura Tharanga – Chairman of the Western Provincial Waste Management Authority
- Dr. T.G. Mahesh Priyadarshana – Chairman of the Western Provincial Tourist Board
- Mr. Nomal Ekanayake – Chairman of the Western Provincial Economic Development Board
- Mr. Wasantha Deshapriya – Chairman of the Western Provincial Information Technology Resources Development Authority
